How to Improve the Standard Diet for Gout Sufferers
Gout pain can be excruciating. It has been likened to having ground up glass moving around in the affected joint! Not a pretty picture.
There are specific things you can do to enhance your diet and make your pain less intense. Besides eliminating the foods and other causes of gout, here are some tips:
Don’t take aspirin. Instead, take acetaminophen (tylenol). One tip about taking acetaminophen – which can eventually damage your liver – is to take capsules of the herbal remedy known as Burdock Root. Burdock root has been discovered to help protect liver cells from damage from acetaminophen.
Another important addition to any diet for gout sufferers is the water you drink. First off, you need to drink one-half your body weight in ounces of water each day. So, if you weight 100 pounds, you need to drink 50 ounces of water.
Immediately at the outset of a gout attack, start to drink a lot of water to help flush the excess uric acid from your blood stream and the monosodium urate crystals from around your affected joint.
Your health can be greatly improved by drinking alkaline water, also known as hexagonal water. Your body functions better in an alkaline environment and most disease cells can’t survive when you keep your pH balance alkaline.
Another helpful herb, in addition to Burdock Root, is Turmeric. The active ingredient in turmeric is called curcumin. It helps your adrenal glands make more cortisone, a strong pain reliever and anti-inflammatory.
Cherries and cherry juice can also be helpful in treating gout. The flavonoids in cherry juice are also an anti-inflammatory and can lower the uric acid level in your blood stream.
Follow these tips in addition to your healthy eating plan, and you may be able to eliminate gout pain from your life forever, or at least reduce it significantly.
